Know Before You Go

Key things to keep in mind

  • You will get wet

  • The minimum age to raft the Ocoee River is 12 years old

  • The Middle section of the Ocoee is 5 miles of rafting and you will be with us for approximately 3 hours

  • The Ocoee River is dam controlled but Mother Nature can impact our flow of water
  • We will raft rain or shine

  • No experience is needed. However, physical participation is required by everyone that will be in the raft, this includes paddling, and walking on uneven terrain. We recommend that you are in good health as the activity can be strenuous.

  • PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) are fully adjustable but will not expand past a size 56” chest. A PFD must fit appropriately to ensure safety.

  • Due to the unpredictable nature of this activity we cannot allow the following guests to participate; women who are pregnant, those with heart conditions and anyone with a recent surgery.

  • We will do our best to keep groups together, but due to raft capacity we may have the need to split groups up on occasion. We appreciate your understanding.

What to wear

  • Summer Months

    • Clothes you don’t mind getting wet; shorts, shirts, bathing suits.

    • Shoes or sandals that you can secure to your feet (old sneakers, river shoes or sandals)

    • Bring a dry outfit to change into after rafting because you will get wet

Covid-19 Information

Our guests safety on and off the river is our top priority. We are preparing increased sanitizing measures at the outpost, including our buildings, gear and our buses. As the COVID-19 situation is an ever-evolving situation, we will continue to assess and make updates to our safety enhancements as we feel are needed.

  • We have added a Sanitizing Station on the deck outside the store for guests upon arrival and departure from the store.

  • The store staff will be cleaning touched surfaces such as door knobs, pencils, pens, glass surfaces, card readers, tables, chairs, and benches throughout the day. Our store staff will also be wearing masks as an added level of safety.

  • The bathrooms will be disinfected (toilets, sinks, showers, and benches) between each trip.

  • PLEASE NOTE: showers are currently closed for all guests. The bathhouse will remain open for restrooms and changing facilities, and we ask that maintain social distancing as much as possible.
